Continuation of kumkeo GmbH’s business operations secured – Successful takeover by e.battery systems AG

kumkeo GmbH, with offices in Hamburg and Kiel, is a leading software and hardware company specializing in innovative solutions for automation and industrial sensor technology. With its industry focus on renewable energies, aerospace and measurement and control technology, kumkeo offers scalable IT solutions and digital transformation strategies that meet the highest quality standards. The company’s tailor-made technologies help to optimize industrial processes and increase efficiency.
Following economic challenges and unfavorable business developments, kumkeo GmbH was forced to initiate insolvency proceedings in July 2024. Dr. Hans-Joachim Berner from the law firm WILLMERKÖSTER was then appointed as insolvency administrator, and e.battery systems AG was acquired as a suitable investor as part of a targeted and accelerated M&A process. The takeover of the assets was successfully completed in the form of an asset deal on November 1, 2024. As an established player in the field of battery and energy systems, e.battery systems AG offers the necessary experience to ensure the successful continuation of business operations as e.bs kumkeo GmbH. As a result, around 80 jobs were saved. Centuros acted as exclusive advisor to the parties involved throughout the M&A process and supported the successful completion of the transaction.
